Google has announced this pilot experience for mobile first strategy on the company who has mobile site / responsive site.

If your website is responsive website or dynamic serving site, you can ignore this post. But if you only have desktop website or both desktop and mobile site, please ensure you’ve configured the desktop and mobile markup code for search engine to crawl your site meta data correctly. If you’re using webmaster tool to submit your desktop sitemap, please also add this verification for mobile so search engine can know they should show the mobile site base on the mobile sitemap you provided.

For companies who only have desktop version, maybe it’s time to plan the mobile first strategy for the growing amount of potential customers.

Google has started this experiment and for the coming months on a small scale. This change of indexing will be complete after this pilot exercise.
